Topic 6: Pesticides in a third of all our foods

Nearly a third of UK food and drink, including fruit and vegetables, contains pesticide, a government advisory body says.

We cannot do without these pesticides despite knowing the harmful effects of it. It has aided us greatly in succesfully growing fruits and vegetables. As fruits and vegetables provide us with the essential nutrients our body needs, we cannot do without it.

Therefore it is inevitable that we eat some pesticides along with our food. And as Dr Ian Brown quotes,
"The health benefits far outweigh any concern about pesticide residues". It is still ok for us to eat these fruits and vegetables.
